THE FRISKO COLLECTIVE : STATEMENT
The Frisko Collective was born at the crossroads of the Intuitive and the Contemplating, from a passion for beauty and love of people. You can ask why !
In today’s world of consuming, the act of making has become secondary to the need for consuming… quantity over quality is evident. This is not because it is desired but because it is perceived as “good” and “positive”, as we are instructed by marketing dictates and as our culture is now taken over by interest in market share and wealth.
What about photography ? Where are movements as Viva, Gamma and Magnum today ? Are they inspiring our youngsters or are they just fossils of a time long passed ? Where is the search for beauty, smiles and reflections ? Is it left for creating Ah’s and Oh’s for today’s photographers who fire thousands of shots from their machinegun gear in the hope catching the one “decisive” moment ? Or, for the thousands of Youtube vloggers talking about their newest and best gear, obviously attributed with titles as “Ambassador” - or whatever -, paid interesting business trips to the corners of the world supplied with gear or rank from the big players in the industry ? And let’s be fair, who wouldn’t ?
The Frisko Collective is there as a vehicle, a direction for beauty, a way of collecting evidence of our days, as many have done before us since the birth of the art of catching light and shades.
Do you like our approach, are you interested, do you want to publish our work ?
Well, we're alive and kicking and waiting for your inquiries !
